Joseph Bidena (Biden)

Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. (born November 20, 1942) is an American politician. Biden became the 46th President of the United States in 2021. He is a member of the Democratic Party. Barack Obama was President from 2009 to 2017 and Biden served as the 47th Vice President during this time.

In April 2023, Biden announced his re-election bid. After the 2024 Democratic primaries, he joined the party’s 2024 presidential primaries. But in July 2024, he withdrew his candidacy due to age and ill health. Biden is the first president to decline to contest the election even after gaining enough delegates to win renomination. He endorsed Harris as the nominee.

Early Life (1942–1965):-

Joseph Robinette Biden was born on November 20, 1942. Biden was born at St. Mary’s Hospital in Scranton, Pennsylvania. He has a sister named Valerie and two brothers named Francis and James. His ancestors moved from England to Maryland around 1820.Biden’s father was wealthy. The family purchased a home in the affluent Long Island town of Garden City in 1946. Biden’s business ventures failed when he was seven. As a result, Scranton went into economic decline during the 1950s, Biden’s father was unable to find steady work. In early 1953, when Biden was ten, the Biden family lived in an apartment in Claymont, Delaware, then moved to a house in nearby Mayfield, Delaware. Biden Sr. later became a successful used car salesman.

Biden began playing baseball at Archmere Academy. In high school, Biden was a halfback and wide receiver on the football team. He was class president in his junior and senior years despite being a poor student. He graduated in 1961. Biden briefly played freshman football at the University of Delaware in Newark. An exceptional student, Biden earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in history and political science.Biden also had a stutter, which he tried to reduce by reciting poetry in front of a mirror.

Marriages:-

Biden married Neilia Hunter on August 27, 1966. But her parents did not agree to their marriage as Catholics. Biden and Neilia were married in a Catholic church in Skaneateles, New York. They had three children: Joseph R. “Beau” Biden III, Robert Hunter Biden, and Naomi Christina “Amy” Biden.

Law School:-

Biden received a Juris Doctor degree from Syracuse University College of Law in 1968. He failed a course in his first year of law school because he had plagiarized a law review article in a paper he had written, but he later recanted it, allowing him to pass. Biden graduated 76th in a class of 85 students.

Biden worked as a clerk at a Wilmington law firm in 1968. Biden later said, “I thought of myself as a Republican.

 

 

 

Death of Wife And Daughter:-

Within a month of being elected senator, Biden’s wife Neilia and one-year-old daughter Naomi were killed in an automobile accident on December 18, 1972. Neilia’s station wagon was struck by a trailer truck. Their sons Beau (3 years old) and Hunter (2 years old) were in the car. Beau suffered a fractured leg and multiple lacerations. Hunter suffered a skull fracture and other head injuries. After all this, Biden considered suicide. Biden wrote that “God had played a terrible trick on him.”

Second Marriage:-

On June 7, 1977, Biden married Jill Tracy Jacobs. Biden and Jill met on a blind date in 1975. Jill Tracy Jacobs is a teacher. Biden and Jill Tracy’s daughter Ashley Biden is a social worker.
