Sundar Pichai
Pichai Sundararajan was born on 10 June 1972. His famous name is Sundar Pichai. Sundar Pichai is a person of Indian origin but he is an American business executive. He is the CEO of Google, a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc.Pichai is a material engineer. Worked for some time at management consulting firm McKinsey & Company. Pichai started working at Google in 2004. Where he led product management and innovation efforts for a suite of Google’s client software products, including Google Chrome and ChromeOS. Released Chromebook in 2012. Pichai added Android to the list of Google products in 2013.
On August 10, 2015, Pichai was chosen to become the next CEO of Google. Pichai was appointed product chief by then-CEO Larry Page. On October 24, 2015, he stepped into this position when Google’s new holding company, Alphabet Inc., was formed. Pichai Sundararajan was appointed to the Alphabet Board of Directors in 2017.
Pichai has also been included in Time’s annual list of the 100 most influential people in 2016 and 2020.
Sundar Pichai Early life
Pichai was born in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India. Pichai belongs to a Tamil Brahmin family. Pichai’s mother’s name was Lakshmi who was a stenographer. His father’s name was Regunath Pichai, who was an electrical engineer in the British group GEC.
Pichai did his schooling from Ashok Nagar Jawahar Vidyalaya Senior Secondary School in Chennai. He did his twelfth from Vana Vani School of IIT Madras. He obtained a degree in Metallurgical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur. Pichai did his M.S. in Material Science and Engineering from Stanford University. Apart from this, he has done MBA from Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania. Here Pichai was a scholar and was named Siebel Scholar and Palmer Scholar respectively.
Sundar Pichai Career
Pichai worked in engineering and product management at Applied Materials and management consulting at McKinsey & Company. Pichai joined Google in 2004 where he managed Google’s client software products, including Google Chrome and ChromeOS.
Pichai also played an important role in Google Drive. He worked on other applications such as Gmail and Google Maps. On November 19, 2009, Pichai demonstrated ChromeOS. Chromebooks were tested and tested in 2011 and were made open to the public in 2012.
On May 20, 2010, he announced the open-sourcing of VP8, a new video codec for Android previously managed by Andy Rubin. Pichai was elected CEO of Google on August 10, 2015. The previous CEO was Larry Page.
Pichai was also named as a contender for CEO of Microsoft in 2014, which was eventually made by Satya Nadella. In August 2017, Pichai wrote a ten-page manifesto criticizing the company’s pro-diversity policies over the firing of a Google employee.
In December 2019, Pichai became the CEO of Alphabet Inc. Pichai’s compensation from his company is expected to exceed $200 million in 2022, which was criticized by many employees.

2022 – Padma Bhushan (Category of Commerce and Industry from Government of India) It is India’s third highest civilian award.
Personal life
Pichai is married to Anjali. They have two children. Anjali is originally from Kota, India. They met while studying together at IIT Kharagpur. They are fond of cricket and football. Pichai lives in Los Altos Hills, California.
